is co-founder and executive director of the
Marijuana
Policy Project , a non-profit advocacy group
based in Washington, D.C.
With 22,000 dues-paying members, 100,000 email subscribers, and an
annual budget of $8 million, MPP is the largest marijuana policy reform
organization in the U.S. MPP's long- term goal is to regulate marijuana
similarly to alcohol and -- in the meantime -- MPP directs approximately
half of its budget toward making medical marijuana legal state-to-state
and on the federal level. MPP has been responsible for enacting the 9th,
10th, and 11th state-level medical marijuana laws in the U.S. -- in
Vermont, Montana, and Rhode Island, respectively.
Rob has testified before Congress twice and before state legislatures
numerous times, in addition to being quoted in or appearing in the news
thousands of times, including the "Today Show" with Katie Couric on NBC,
Bill O'Reilly's show on the Fox News Channel, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, and
hundreds of local TV stations."
