Steven Hayward
is senior fellow at the
Pacific Research Institute. He has been
the author of PRI’s annual Index of Leading Environmental Indicators since
its launch in 1994. He is also the F.K. Weyerhaeuser Fellow at the
American Enterprise Institute, and author of AEI’s Environmental Policy
Outlook. He is the author of four books, including, most recently,
Greatness: Reagan, Churchill, and the Making of Extraordinary Leaders (CrownForum)
and The Age of Reagan: The Fall of the Old Liberal Order, 1964-1980 (PrimaForum),
the first of a two-volume treatment of Reagan’s place in American public
life.
Hayward writes
frequently on a wide range of issues, including environmentalism, law,
economics, and public policy, and has published in dozens of scholarly and
popular journals including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal,
The Weekly Standard, National Review, The American Spectator, Forbes, The
Public Interest, and Policy Review. Hayward holds a Ph.D. in American
Studies and an M.A. in Government from Claremont Graduate University. He
is also an adjunct fellow and lecturer at the John M. Ashbrook Center at
Ashland University, and has been a Weaver Fellow of the Intercollegiate
Studies Institute, an Earhart Fellow, and an Olive Garvey Fellow of the
Mont Pelerin Society.
