Jim Atkinson, serves as the CEO of Guinness Atkinson Asset Management, Inc. and the president of the Guinness Atkinson Funds, was formerly the managing director of Guinness Flight Global Asset Management, Ltd. (which merged with Investec in 1998), a position he held from October 1993 to September 2000. Prior to that Mr. Atkinson was a senior vice president of Huntington Advisers, a mutual fund manager specializing in foreign currency money funds. In addition to these positions Mr. Atkinson has served as the president of Max Funds and as the principal at a mutual fund marketing research and consultancy firm. Mr. Atkinson is also the Chief Compliance Officer for Guinness Atkinson Asset Management. He is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles.
