About
the
Free
Market
Hall
of
Fame
Almost 220 years ago, many of our patriot founding fathers who fought for freedom and liberty joined together as delegates to the Philadelphia convention of 1787. There they debated, voted and signed the newly written Constitution as shown in this 1940 painting above by Howard Chandler Christy.
Today the Free Market Hall of Fame will again bring together lovers of liberty and freedom and each year a number of free-market supporters will be inducted into the "Free Market Hall of Fame" at the annual FreedomFest Conference.
We will have at least five different categories including free-market economists, business people, legislators and government officials, think tanks and journalists where you the registered voters will help with the nominating process by voting for the individuals in each group that you believe deserve to be in the Free Market Hall of Fame
(or
Shame) for that year based on accomplishments, message and actions.
Nominations for the Free-Market Hall of Fame are open to the public and can be made by anyone by e-mailing ron@freedomfest.com. Individuals can vote for or nominate individuals who they believe should be in the Free Market Hall of Fame. Write-ins are permitted.
The categories will include the following:
1. Academic economists
2. Journalists and writers
3. Business leaders
4. Legislators and government officials
5. Think tanks
A select group of economists and other free-market supporters will make the final decision and vote on upcoming Hall of Fame members.
An induction ceremony will occur at each FreedomFest conference.
The next FreedomFest will be held
July 10-12, 2008, at Bally’s/Paris Resort in Las Vegas. The induction ceremony will honor five individuals each year, living or dead. A lecture on or by each honoree will take place during the 3-day conference.
