Cruise Tour Itinerary
|
July 14 |
Anchorage, Alaska |
Arrive in
Alaska's largest city and gateway to the wilderness.
Check into the Anchorage Downtown Marriott at your leisure.
This afternoon we will get together for a pre cruise/tour
cocktail reception to get acquainted before we sail.
|
|
July 15 |
Anchorage, Alaska |
Today we will explore
Anchorage's historical points of interests and visit the
spectacular Alaska Native Heritage Center. Learn about the
rich heritage of Alaska’s 11 major cultural groups while
walking through native village settings representing the
five regions of Alaska. Experience Alaska native culture
firsthand through engaging storytelling, authentic native
song and dance, and artist demonstrations.
This afternoon we will be
greeted by our Celebrity Cruise Lines tour director for
details on the next few days.
|
|
July 16 |
Denali, Alaska |
Travel by
deluxe motorcoach to Denali National Park, home of Mt.
McKinley.
In the evening, enjoy Cabin Nite Dinner
Theatre for foot-stompin' music and an all-you-can-eat meal.
|
|
July 17 |
Denali/
Talkeetna Alaska |
In the morning, we will be treated to the
Denali Natural History Tour, a guided experience in the
six-million acre Denali National Park. In the afternoon,
relax on our deluxe motorcoach as we travel to the quaint
town of Talkeetna. We will overnight at the Talkeetna
Alaskan Lodge so be sure to join us for a nightcap in front
of the big stone fireplace.
|
|
July 18 |
Seward, Alaska |
In the
morning, we will travel by deluxe motorcoach to Anchorage
for lunch on your own. Then we'll continue past the
beautiful Chugach Mountains to Seward, where we'll board the
Millennium to begin our cruise adventure
|
|
July 19 |
Hubbard
Glacier (Cruising) |
Hubbard Glacier is the one glacier in the
world that does not move at a glacial pace. Quite the
opposite. In fact, in 1986, Hubbard Glacier - the largest
tidewater glacier on the North American continent - moved an
average of just under 5.5 feet per hour. Keep a watchful eye
as you sail through the Yakutat Bay, as you may be a witness
to geological history.
|
|
July 20 |
Juneau,
Alaska |
From massive scenic
mountains to historic
buildings, this gorgeous
capital city has something
for everyone. Here the
pioneering spirit lives on
in an interesting mix of
cosmopolitan chic and
frontier ruggedness. Visit
the Alaska State Museum and
its exquisite collection of
Russian Orthodox and Gold
Rush relics.
|
|
July 21 |
Skagway,
Alaska |
It's doubtful you'll succumb to gold fever,
but if any place on earth can summon up the thrill of
prospecting, it's Skagway. By embracing its gold-rush past,
Skagway has managed to preserve a frontier spirit complete
with saloons and dance-hall revues. If the spirit does
overtake you, passage on the White Pass & Yukon Railway or a
ride on the Klondike Highway will take you to places where
you can roll up your sleeves and do some prospecting of your
own.
|
|
July 22 |
Icy Strait
Point, Alaska |
Fifty miles west of Juneau and at the mouth
of Glacier Bay, lies historic Icy Strait Point. Travelers
have the unique opportunity to experience Tlingit culture,
superior wildlife viewing opportunities and years of Alaskan
history.
|
|
July 23 |
Ketchikan,
Alaska |
In addition to being the jumping-off point
for seaplane excursions into the Misty Fjords National
Monument and its 2.2 million acres of wilderness nirvana,
Ketchikan is also the ancestral home of the Tlingit tribe.
Another "must-see" here is the world's largest collection of
totem poles. You can learn what motivates someone to turn a
piece of lumber into a towering work of art at the Saxman
Native Village and Totem Bight and Totem Heritage Center.
|
|
July 24 |
Inside
Passage (Cruising) |
This is one of the most famously beautiful
passages in all the world. It features virtually everything
you came to Alaska hoping to see, including rain forests,
glaciers, fjords and white-capped peaks. All of which create
a setting that's perfect for viewing whales and sea lions.
|
|
July 25 |
Vancouver,
British Columbia |
Every bit as cosmopolitan as Seattle, with
a distinctive European flair, Vancouver is the Canadian
jewel of Puget Sound. From the cobblestone streets of the
Gastown district to Little Italy and Chinatown, Vancouver
has something for everyone. |
